Even as the rest of the world's women continues to celebrate No Bra Day as one way of creating awareness on breast Cancer, nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has not been left behind.
Taking to her Facebook page on Tuesday morning, the vocal Tanga-tanga senator posted three photos of herself without a bra as one way of encouraging Breast Cancer Awareness as well as showing support for the breast cancer survivors.
The self-proclaimed Mama Miradi senator urged fellow women and ladies to go without wearing a bra, saying it was healthy and also part of standing in solidarity with breast cancer victims.
"Today is NO BRA DAY, leading by example, I want to encourage my fellow ladies to forgo wearing a bra to encourage Breast cancer awareness and show support to survivors. #MamaMIRADI," she posted on Facebook.
The braless movement, which had been dormant for years, has gained a lot of traction in recent years.
National No Bra Day is usually held on October 13th of every year and serves to encourage wearers to leave their bra at home.
The day promotes breast cancer awareness. It also helps raise money for research. Many women who have survived breast cancer are unable to go without a bra as they need it to hold their prosthesis after surgery.
Additionally, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and No Bra Day should serve as a reminder for all women to be screened for breast cancer. Most types of breast cancer can be treated if caught early.
Despite Omanga's post to create awareness, her photos attracted mixed reactions online, with a section of Kenyans humorously coming out to tease the Ruto allied Senator.
Others appreciated the senator, saying she had done good in leading the way for her fellow women.
