Kenya is today holding celebrations for its heroes , presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Mashujaa Day celebrations will be held at the Gusii Stadium in Kisii where hundreds of dignitaries are expected
9.00 am - Guest and wananchi are seated on at the Gusii stadium.
10.30 am - Arrival of Commanders.
10.35 am - Chief of Defence Force Gen Kibochi and Kisii governor Ongwae arrives
10.40 am - Cabinet Secretaries, CJ David Maraga, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka arrives. This follows by a guard of honour.
10.45 am - The Deputy President William Ruto arrives at Gusii stadium
10.55 am - The State motorcade arrives at Gusii Stadium. President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margret Kenyatta arrive at the Gusii Stadium and will be received by General Kibochi whereby they will ride on the ceremony vehicle across the stadium.
Her excellency is escorted to the Presidential dais
His excellency greats the Wananchi across the stadium.
His excellency the President mounts on the ceremonial dais
The National Anthem will be played. This will be followed by the East African Community Anthem
His excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta will inspect the guard of honour. He will then proceed to the Presidential dais to kick start the ceremony.
The guard of honour will pass by, then followed by the fly-pass formation by the KDF aircraft. This will be followed by prayers and then entertainment.
Governor Ongwae will make a brief remark and then will invite Deputy President William Ruto who will make a brief remark and then welcome President Uhuru Kenyatta to address the Nation.
