Governor Mike Sonko Sent Home As Senate Vote To Uphold Impeachment

Thursday 17th DEC - The Nairobi governor mike sonko has been going through tough times of late with back to back woes on his side.

Sonko who was elected to office on a jubilee ticket has been between a rock and a hard place of late.

A few months ago the governor escaped an Impeachment motion, only for it to be fall him days later.

Sonko during his tenure as the Nairobi governor was stripped off some key and essentials dockets that were handed over to the NMS.

Since then the Nairobi governor has been on the spotlight as he even refused to sign in the county revenue bill.

Sonko has been accusing the NMS of trying to loot from the Nairobi city council.

1. Going against the Constitution.

 

2. Abuse of Office

 

3. Gross misconduct

 

4. Crime under National Law

 

Sonko was grilled Today by the senate where he explained some of the questions asked to him in regards to Nairobi County.

The senate has however voted on each an every charge that he was accused of with a majority from Kieleweke and Odm side voting Yes for his Impeachment.

 

Nevertheless some of deputy president William Ruto Close allies voted No for his Impeachment with senator Mutula kilonzo junior and Senator Sakaja abstaining from the vote.
