Uhuru Says Sh. 2 Billion Is Stolen From Government Daily

Monday, 18th January - President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday left Kenyans in shock after claiming that up to Sh. 2 billion is stolen from his government every day. The president said this while attempting to justify the billions of money his government is scheduled to use to pass his BBI political project.

The president was speaking during an interview that was conducted by Gikuyu vernacular radio stations at State House.

“Is it the first time Kenya will have an election?” the President posed. “The billions they steal in some of the projects that I will not mention are more than that (what will be spent on BBI). The amount they steal every day is more than Sh. 2 billion on a daily basis.”

His sentiments left Kenyans in shock as they came across as a confession of his inability to stop corruption in his own government.

In his address, the president was making an attempt to win over his Mt. Kenya backyard, which has since shifted allegiance to Deputy President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Since 2017, President Uhuru has grown unpopular in the Central region over what area residents have seen as economic negligence, betrayal, and allegiance with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. President Uhuru Address.
